For this design, the client had asked if I could include a watercolor one of his customers had painted of the facility itself somewhere within the new site's design. After taking a look at the painting itself, I agreed. I used the texture of the watercolor paper in the background of the site, creating a soft, sand-like appearance that emphasises the Club's location on Siesta Key beach, and used various portions of the painting itself as accents and watermarks faintly throughout the navigation and content area. The client was pleased. I also formatted all the photos on the site as though they were photographs taken by visitors and developed with a thin white border, complete with the gloss of the photo paper itself reflecting a very slight glare. Finally, I was tired of the continuing trend I'd noticed in my own design of slapping the logo in the same spot with every design, so I confronted that by placing this site's logo in the opposite corner. The bright orange sandals weren't my idea. This site was designed during my tenure as Art Director for GravityFree Web Design.
