This site probably best showcases just how gradient-crazy I've been lately... I don't think there's a square inch on the page where I haven't gone in and included a faint gradation from one corner to the other, no matter how faint. Event Management Solutions was actually a client GravityFree had worked with in the past; they'd crafted the logo, corporate identity and original site about six months before I joined the team, and I still think the mark itself is really solid. Unfortunately, the old web site didn't give that logo much of a chance to stand on its own, amid dozens of photographs, heavy linework and high-contrast colors.
For this full site redesign, I decided to go the opposite direction, showcasing the logo in a deep blue bar along the left hand side of the page and limiting the amount of hues competing for viewers' attention elsewhere on the page. I didn't start completely from ground zero, however, and included a few elements from the old site to avoid confusing previous visitors with a totally new, foreign layout. Despite my hesitance to overuse gradients on any site, I think they're particularly effective here, and I'm very happy with the way this turned out in the end. This site was designed during my tenure as Art Director for GravityFree Web Design.
