One of my favorites. The previous McCurdy's site had relied almost entirely on the venue's pale yellow and black corporate colors, and the owner had challenged me to include some of the vibrant shades he'd plastered the walls of his establishment with over the last couple years. Initially I was hesitant, but when we took a short trip to the theatre itself and saw how well the deep red and gold worked together in person, I was inspired. Instead of falling back on the standard "brick wall background" that seems to plague other comedy clubs' sites, I chose a more personal, credible velvet curtain that lends a lot of personality to the site. I'm really happy with the way the logo fit into this design, as it's prevalent without becoming obnoxious, and I think this is all-in-all some of my best work to date. This site was designed during my tenure as Art Director for GravityFree Web Design.
