The web design that almost was. I was extremely happy with my work on this site, crafted to promote the groundbreaking of a new performing arts theatre in the Sarasota area, but the developers went with another design in the end. I adapted the color and texture the Backlot had used in their business cards and identity package with this design, and made several allusions to the uncommon shape of the building itself (both the layout of the text and the shape of the content area were inspired by the proposed shape and proportions of the structure). I was pleased with the way I managed to arrange webtext typographically on the page, delivering a type layout that was both legible to the search engines and visually appealing / original. I was sorry to let this layout go, but life goes on. This site was designed during my tenure as Art Director for GravityFree Web Design.
