A bit of freelance work I did in the summer of 2003, the Clarinet chart pictured is one of a line of nine different fingering charts for musical instruments. We produced charts for guitar, piano, saxophone, flute, clarinet, trumpet, trombone and keyboard octaves, in addition to a reference utility for the circle of fifths and scales. Each folder maintained a similar look and feel, yet changed the predominant color. For instance, on the trumpet charts, every area that's purple on this clarinet chart became green. These are large, 10" x 17" laminated tri-folds with information about other products in the line, as well as a brief introduction to the instrument itself on one side. The actual music charts, as well as visual interpretations of each fingering, are printed on the flip side. I'm proud of my work on these, because I grew up learning from similar charts and was always bothered by how cluttered and difficult to navigate they were. With these charts, I took great care in maintaining a clean, legible appearance that wouldn't overwhelm and confuse young students.
